This is the first title in Scala`s 4fold series that is designed to appeal to children, using the innovative foldouts to highlight and explain the most popular works in the Prado. Produced in conjunction with Bank Street College, the US experts in child development, this is a delightful presentation of the Prado`s collections, which asks the child to enjoy and assess the pictures through a series of stimulating questions and interesting nuggets of information. The book is divided into seven imaginatively laidout sections, including Royal Families, The Holy Family, and Play and Recreation. It draws on paintings by Goya, Velázquez, El Greco, Rubens, Titian, Sorolla, Rembrandt and many more to illustrate the themes. This is an excellent example of how to portray great art to a younger audience in an exciting and stimulating way.
