Ken Follet va néixer a Cardiff, Gal·les. Després de llicenciar-se en filosofia a la University College de Londres, va treballar de periodista per al South Wales Echo i l'Evening News de Londres, abans de convertir-se en un dels escriptors de best sellers més reconeguts del món.
