Alejandro Zambra (Santiago de Chile, 1975) ha publicado los libros de poesía Bahía inútil (1998) y Mudanza (2003), la colección de ensayos No leer (2010) y las novelas Bonsái (2006) y La vida privada de los árboles (2007), que han sido traducidas a diversos idiomas. Escribe sobre literatura en diversos medios de prensa chilenos. Ha colaborado también en las revistas "Turia" y en el suplemento "Babelia" de El País. Actualmente es profesor de literatura de la Universidad Diego Portales. Bonsái fue galardonada con el Premio de la Crítica como la mejor novela chilena de 2006 y convertida en película con el mismo título por Cristián Jiménez, estrenada en Cannes en la sección de A certain regard. Alejandro Zambra fue además seleccionado entre los mejores narradores jóvenes en español por la revista Granta.
