Peter, a longdistance lorry driver, gives a lift to a 16yearold hitchhiker. As the boy confides in him, Peter discovers that his name is John and that he has run away from home after a violent row with his uncle. But John`s uncle has been found dead and the police are making a nationwide search for John.
