Jeanette Winterson nació en 1959, pasó su infancia en Lancashire y en la actualidad vive en Londres. En castellano están publicadas sus cuatro primeras novelas: "Fruta prohibida", galardonada con el Whitbread Award a la mejor primera novela, "La pasión", que recibió el John Llewellyn Rhys Memorial Prize, "Espejismos", premiada por la Academia Americana de las Artes y las Letras con el E.M.
