KÄSTNER, ERICH
Emil is travelling alone to his grandmother's house in the city. He is carrying money to her from his mother. Then a man on the train steals the money. Emil follows the thief and an exciting adventure begins, with lots of detectives, a lift boy, and a fight in a bank!
Erich Kästner (Dresde 1899-Múnich 1974) estudió filología alemana, historia y filosofía. Escritor, colaborador de diversos periódicos, guionista de teatro, durante la época nacionalsocialista prohibieron sus libros y él fue detenido en varias ocasiones. Figura intelectual del Berlín de los años treinta, autor de poemarios y libros infantiles, entre los que se cuenta Emil y los detectives, tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial se trasladó a Múnich, donde fundó el cabaret Die kleine Freiheit y dirigió la sección cultural del diario Neuen Zeitung.
