Yasmina Reza (París, 1959) es descendiente de una familia judía, hija de padre de origen iraniano y ruso y de madre húngara. Es autora de las obras teatrales Conversation après un enterrement (1987), Traversée de l'hiver (1989), Arte (1994), L'homme du hasard (1995), Trois versions de la vie (2000) y Une pièce espagnole (2004). Arte se convirtió en un éxito de público y recibió numerosos galardones, entre los que destacan el Molière al mejor autor, el Tony Award a la mejor obra y el Laurence Olivier Award a la mejor comedia. Es autora de un libro de relatos, Hammerklavier (1997), y de las novelas. Una desolación (1999), Adam Haberberg (2003) y En el trineo de Schopenhauer (2005).
