Elena Medel nació en Córdoba en 1985, aunque reside en Madrid. Ha publicado los poemarios Mi primer bikini (DVD, 2002), Tara (DVD, 2006) y Chatterton (XXVI Premio Loewe a la Creación Joven; Visor, 2014), así como los cuadernos Vacaciones (El Gaviero, 2004) y Un soplo en el corazón (4 de Agosto, 2007). Todos ellos, además de poemas dispersos o inéditos, los ha reunido en Un día negro en una casa de mentira (Visor, 2015). Su obra ha sido parcialmente traducida a una docena de idiomas, así como incluida en numerosas antologías. Dirige la revista Eñe y es editora de La Bella Varsovia, dedicada a la poesía.
