John Connolly

nació en Dublín en 1968. Estudió filología

inglesa en el Trinity College de Dublín y periodismo en

la Dublin City University.

Fue funcionario en la Administración local y trabajó

como chico para todo en los

almacenes Harrod's de

Londres, y como camarero, antes de ejercer como periodista freelance del Irish Times, para el que sigue

escribiendo. Vive en

Dublín, pero pasa parte del año en Estados Unidos, donde se desarrollan sus obras. Es autor de la célebre serie de novela negra protagonizada por el

detective Charlie Parker, alias «Bird», de la que Tusquets Editores ha publicado

todos sus títulos: Todo lo que muere (Shamus Award 1999

a la mejor primera novela), El poder de las tinieblas,
