publicidad, en 1989 decidió dedicarse profesionalmente a la literatura. En su primera obra, Violetas de Marzo,
presentaba a su personaje más emblemático: el investigador alemán Bernie Gunther, protagonista de una aclamada serie de
novelas ambientadas en el segundo tercio del siglo XX, todas ellas publicadas por RBA. Si los muertos no resucitan
mereció el Premio RBA de Novela Negra 2009. RBA también ha publicado Mercado de invierno, su última novela, ambientada
en el mundo del fútbol.
