Lotte y Soren Hammer son hermanos y nacieron en Dinamarca. Lotte fue enfermera en Alemania, Grecia y Groenlandia tras graduarse en sus estudios en 1977. Su hermano fue profesor de matemáticas, danés e inglés y, posteriormente, catedrático en la Facultad de Ingeniería de Copenhagen. Empezaron a escribir juntos en 2004. El lado oscuro, publicada por Rocaeditorial en 2012 fue la primera novela de la serie protagonizada por Konrad Simonsen y su equipo y que continúa con Todo tiene su precio.
