Ha colaborado en numerosos medios escritos, como The New York Times, Threepenny Review, Harper?s, McSweeney?s, Tin House, The Believer y O: The Oprah Magazine; ha dado clases en universidades como Princeton, Columbia y la Universidad de Boston, y ha sido escritora visitante en Baruch, Vassar y la Universidad de California, entre otras.
