Naoyuki Uchida, más conocido por su seudónimo, Yukito Ayatsuji, nació en 1960 en la ciudad de Kioto. Este escritor japonés aficionado a las novelas de misterio y de terror es uno de los fundadores del club de lectura Honkaku Mystery Writers, una organización conformada por los escritores de mayor renombre del subgénero honkaku, novelas detectivescas con tramas que siempre giran en torno a un enigma o un rompecabezas.
