Adolfo García Ortega nació en Valladolid en 1958. Vive en Madrid desde 1982, compaginando su residencia con Barcelona. Ha estado vinculado al mundo del libro y de la literatura desde 1980. Traductor, crítico literario, articulista en prensa (El País) y editor, en la actualidad es director de la editorial Seix Barral. Escritor de enorme reputación por la extrema calidad de sus obras, es, además, poeta y autor de libros de relatos.
