José Ovejero (Madrid, 1958) vive a caballo entre Madrid y Bruselas, donde combina su pasión por la literatura con las colaboraciones periodísticas. Desde que ganara el Premio Ciudad de Irún 1993 con su poemario Biografía del explorador, ha cultivado todos los géneros, siendo especialmente reseñables su libro de viajes China para hipocondríacos, merecedor del Premio Grandes Viajeros 1998, y su novela Las vidas ajenas, ganadora del Premio Primavera 2005. Desde su primer galardón hasta el último, el autora ha continuado cultivando el género narrativo con novelas como Añoranza del héroe (1997), Huir de Palermo (1999) y Un mal año para Miki (2003), con libros de relatos como Cuentos para salvarnos a todos (1996), Qué raros son los hombres (2000) y Mujeres que viajan solas (2004), y con ensayos como Bruselas (1996).
