Durante su infancia Sophia Bennett (1966) vivió en Malasia, Hong Kong, Berlín y Noruega, debido al trabajo de su padre. En 2009 ganó el premio The Times/Chicken House Competition 2009 con Hilos.  Los cuentos de hadas pueden hacerse realidad. Posteriormente publicó Beads, Boys and Bangles (Abalorios, chicos y brazaletes), y Sequins, Stars and Spotlights (Lentejuelas, estrellas y focos), segundo y tercer libro, respectivamente de la serie Hilos. Su última novela publicada es The Look. Además de escribir, sus pasiones son el arte, el diseño, sus cuatro hijos, las revistas de moda, los cappuccinos, su marido y su trabajo (pero no necesariamente en ese orden). Vive en Londres con su familia y colabora habitualmente con The Times y The Guardian.
