Jean-Patrick Manchette (Marsella, 1942 - París, 1995) es uno de los más renombrados novelistas
franceses de género criminal. Militante de extrema izquierda, fue colaborador de algunos medios de comunicación de
tendencia comunista, aunque más tarde decidió orientar su carrera profesional hacia el mundo del cine, donde cosechó
grandes éxitos como escenógrafo y guionista. Ello le animó a dedicarse plenamente a la literatura, una nueva faceta en
la que se estrenó en 1971 con la publicación de una novela escrita a cuatro manos, Laissez bronzer les cadavres!, a la
que siguió El caso N'Gustro , su debut en solitario, y Nada.
