Frederik Pohl (Nueva York, 1919) es una figura clave en la ciencia ficción norteamericana por su labor como agente literario, editor, antólogo y autor de cuentos y novelas de género. Fundador del mítico grupo «The Futurians» junto a Isaac Asimov, C. M. Kornbluth, Damon Knight y James Blish, presidió la Asociación de Escritores Norteamericanos de Ciencia Ficción entre 1974 y 1976. Detenta el récord de tener en su haber tres premios Hugo y otros tantos Nebula. Ha escrito más de un centenar de obras
