Robert Falcon Scott, (Reino Unido 1868-Antártida 1912), oficial de la Marina Real Británica y explorador; lideró dos expediciones a la Antártida: la Expedición Discovery (1901-1904) y la Expedición Terra Nova (1910-1913). En esta última Scott lideró un equipo de cinco hombres que alcanzó al polo sur el 17 de enero de 1912, algo más de un mes después que la Expedición Amundsen. Fallecieron a su regreso.
