In 1933 three young, gifted anthropologists are thrown together in the jungle of New Guinea. They are Nell Stone, fascinating, magnetic and famous for her controversial work studying South Pacific tribes, her intelligent and aggressive husband Fen, and Andrew Bankson, who stumbles into the lives of this strange couple and becomes totally enthralled. Creció en Massachusetts y estudió Literatura Inglesa en la University of North Carolinay en Chapell Hill, además se graduó en Escritura Creativa en la Syracuse University. Su primera novela, "The Pleasing Hour" (1999),recibió el Barnes and Noble Discover Award y la mención entusiasta de The New York Times. A ésta siguieron "The English Teatcher" (2005) y "Father of the Rain" (2010), que confirmaron a Lily King como una de las voces más singulares de la actual narrativa norteamericana.
