Kate Morton nació en Australia en 1976 y creció en las montañas del sudeste en Queensland. Posee títulos en arte dramático y literatura inglesa y es candidata doctoral en la Universidad de Queensland. Kate vive con su esposo e hijos en Brisbane. Su primera novela, La casa Riverton, se publicó con enorme éxito en 29 países y alcanzó el número uno en muchos de ellos. Sólo en el Reino Unido vendió más de 800.000 ejemplares.
