Nicole Krauss (Nueva York, 1974) se crió en Long Island y, durante la adolescencia, vivió un año en Ginebra. Graduada por la Universidad de Stanford, cursó estudios de posgrado en Oxford y en el Courtauld Institute of Art de Londres.
